J & I Jewelry is designed by Ian Gibson. Ian was born in England and is completely self taught in the art of jewelry fabrication. His fascination with metals and a desire to work with his hands surfaced while studying geology. Ian’s interest in rocks and fossils led to his exploration of metals. Today J & I jewelry pieces are recognized for their exceptional craftsmanship, innovative design and creative flair.

Ian and his wife, Jessica, established their Philadelphia studio in 1999 . With the assistance of a small staff of talented local artisans, they manufacture “J & I” jewelry. Using sterling silver and 14k gold filled metals, each piece of jewelry is crafted by hand. Casting processes are not used. Designs often feature gemstones and pearls. An oxidizing patina is added to many pieces to highlight the hand etched detail.
