From Lindsay Art Glass - The Etched Mermaid Bowl in Blue by David Lindsay and Phyllis Polito - This etched Mermaid Bowl is a whimsical collaboration between California glassblower David Lindsay and master glass engraver, Phyllis Polito. David began by blowing a perfect vase of blue luster glass. Phyllis then masked off the mermaid design and delicately etched away the remaining glass to reveal a luminous blue underside. This is a long and tedious process that requires a tremendous amount of control and skill. The process is so time consuming that only the finest vases are used. Size is approximately 6" high x 6 " in diameter.
