Hopko Glass: Michael Hopko
Artist Michael Hopko has been working with molten glass since 1990. His love of nature and the creativity that glass blowing allows was the inspiration for Hopko Art Glass.
Through the years, Michael has amassed a collection of sculptures that not only combine art & craftsmanship, but also capture the beauty and motion of nature through glass.
His interest in glass began in 1990 while attending Shasta College as an art student. After college he apprenticed with several different glass artists in California, and in 1996 Soul Glass was established in the Trinity Alps of Northern California.
As an avid outdoorsman, it was Michael's passion for nature that inspired him to create a unique and realistic line of glass fish including Trout, Bass, Salmon and other colorful fish like the Mahi Mahi and Yellowfin Tuna. His repertoire also includes an impressive and colorful selection of Octopus sculptures. Each glass sculpture that leaves his studio is carefully hand crafted with an assurance of superior quality.
Michael Hopko's goal is to produce more elaborate pieces, such as Goldfish or Rooster Fish.
