Gorgeous, hand hammered Sterling Silver Wide Band is hand forged by Laurie Schutt. Width measures 5/16"

Sterling silver is an alloy of 92½ % Silver (.925) and 7½ % (.075) of a base metal - usually copper.

Pure silver is almost perfectly white, very ductile and malleable. It is considered too soft for jewelry or flatware use, therefore the addition of small amounts of a base metal serve to harden the alloy.

About the work

Laurie describes her work as contemporary classics. Her jewelry is hand forged and fabricated using heavy-guage wire and sheets of precious metals. Most pieces are mixed metal to provide maximum versatility for the wearer.
