From Joanna Craft - Sterling Silver and Quartz necklace. Richly textured, hand fabricated necklace featuring a lovely arrangement of textured oxidized Sterling Silver and beautifully accented with quartz. Sterling Silver link chain is adjustable from 18" to 20". Pendant's center rings are approximately 1 1/8" in diameter.

Sterling silver is an alloy of 92½ % Silver (.925) and 7½ % (.075) of a base metal - usually copper.

Pure silver is almost perfectly white, very ductile and malleable. It is considered too soft for jewelry or flatware use, therefore the addition of small amounts of a base metal serve to harden the alloy.

Quartz is a crystalline rock or mineral composed of silicon dioxide and it is the second most common mineral in the Earth's continental crust. Found in all types of geological environments, there are 49 varieties. Many are gemstones, some of which are incredibly beautiful and very rare.
