Sunstone is admired for its warm, sunny color as well as its sparkling optical effect known as aventurescence, which is created by tiny reflective copper or hematite flakes inside the stone. 

Sterling Silver is an alloy of 92.5% Silver (.925) and 7.5% (.075) of a base metal- usually copper.

Pure silver is almost perfectly white, very ductile and malleable. It is concidered too soft for jewelry or flatware use, therefore the addition of small amounts of a base metal serves to harden the alloy.
